Apparently USB GX created 2 partitions on my drive (one which was visible) and formatted them to GPT and logical drives when their should have been only one: MBR, primary and active. If anyone else is having this problem download MiniTool Partition Wizard. The Wii did not, however, recognize the WBM formatted hard drive. Still couldn't format through WBFS, however, WBM was able to format it. Followed some other online guides and deleted partition via Disk Management. Tried formatting the drive via USB GX, but then the computer stopped recognizing it.

I was also wondering whether I should update the wii and rehack it or just leave it at 4.3.Įdit: Followed LocutusOfBorges steps and updated all WADs, apparently I needed 40 of them. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me. When trying to USB Loader I get Exception (DSI) occurred!.

I thought updated the homebrew channel might help so I did it over wifi and realized I can't install bootmii either because the wii is too new. When I try to load it from the homebrew channel it says that a USB device was not found and it gives me the option of cios 249 or cios 222 (no idea what that means, so I exit in fear of bricking the wii). If I leave it plugged in it will freeze at a black screen and I can faintly see the text USB Loader GX in the background. It only boots if I have my hard drive unplugged, and then it will give me 30 seconds to plug it in. What brand/size drive do you have? A link would be helpful if you can share it.I recently came into possession of a hacked wii, and I have been trying to update USB Loader GX because it seems to be at an old version and it does not work very well. The reason this is my approach is that if I change nothing, unplug the Sandisk drive (either one) and plug in my 128GB Lexar (usb 3.0) drive, all of my Wii games launch off of it just fine.

I'm at a loss for how to fix this except to keep trying other drives until I find one that works. Even set up my virtual memory card no problem. I was able to launch the GameCube games just fine. I also have GameCube games on this drive, so I went straight into Nintendont from the Homebrew Channel. Tried formatting FAT32 with 32KB clusters just like you. After that I thought "I'll use a drive I recently used before that worked" So I switched over to a Sandisk Cruzer Blade (also 32GB). For me this is the lesser problem compared to the one that Nintendont can't be started through USB Loader GX.

I tried a fix I saw on this reddit that involved formatting like a USBHDD with an app called BOOTICE but that effectively killed one of my usb drives. carnage702 This explanation doesn't sound logical to me as port 0 (which crashes every 10 minutes when using Nintendont over HBC) works perfectly with USB Loader GX. Sometimes I'd get a game to launch, but then when I exited back to USBLGX the drive would fail to initialize. I bought a 32GB Sandisk Cruzer Fit (usb 2.0) and tried a couple of those. All I can say is that it's probably the flash drive.
